The Eternal Summerhouse  2017/18

Acrylic panels, adjusted greenhouse frame, white stone chippings

Using the language of the greenhouse with its aluminium frame, rubber gaskets and ‘W’ clips to create a temple of colour to brighten up our lives. The summerhouse looks very different as the sun tracks around it over the day, casting long colourful shadows through the multiple layers of transparent acrylic. In the morning the panels mist up with dew; in the winter the panels are literally frosted; at night the building is illuminated internally - the effect is ever changing and designed to put a smile on your face especially when the British weather is miserable.
